Contextual Inquiry

The first challenge of design is to understand customers’ needs, desires, and approach to work or life. Yet work becomes so habitual that customers often have difficulty articulating exactly what they do and why they do it. With Contextual Inquiry, you discover what matters in the work by conducting field interviews with customers in their workplace. Team interpretation brings team members’ unique perspectives to the data, capturing issues, drawing work models, and developing a shared view of the customer.
