Clear is a very simple mobile app that brings a measure of joy and fun to the to-do list. The interface combines bright bold colors and smooth animations with a completely gestural interface that makes your tasks feel somehow lighter. In fact, almost every aspect of the app is designed to make work feel more like play. When you swipe to complete a to-do, you’re rewarded with a subtle celebratory sound. If you complete all the items in your to-do list, instead of presenting you with a blank screen, Clear provides you with a relevant inspirational quote. While it may sound gratuitous, it’s actually not. The delivery is restrained and each aspect of play feels integrated with the overall intent. I have to admit that using this app actually brought a smile to my face.
